About the role
Gaming Innovation Group (GiG) is hiring a Senior Big Data Engineer for a 6-month project in its Data department. The role owns the analysis, design, build and support of real-time big data projects.
What you'd do
You would design and maintain ETL processes, data integrations and pipelines that handle very large volumes of data, and build high-performance services to process, store and analyse it. Data validation and quality checks tailored to business needs are yours to design. You troubleshoot live production systems, review code and promote best practice across the team, and test and bring in new technologies where they fit.
What you need
Strong expertise in big data technologies such as Spark, Kafka, NiFi and ClickHouse, a solid grasp of schema design and data modelling, and expert SQL for extracting large datasets. Object-oriented programming, ideally in Python or Java, and strong experience with cloud or distributed systems are required.
