About the role
Gaming Innovation Group (GiG) is hiring a Big Data Architect for the Big Data team within its Data Engineering group. The role designs data architectures for the company's iGaming products, from the first technical draft onwards.
What you'd do
You would assess the current data platform, define where it should go with the team lead, and run the gap analysis that drives the move. Architectures are drafted together with the Lead Big Data Engineer, the Enterprise Data Architect and the Lead BI. You size the effort of large tasks, support estimation in refinement sessions, feed into project planning, and help the team review each other's work. You also keep the team to coding and data quality standards and brief them on new big data technologies.
What you need
Experience designing data warehouses, data lakes and schemas, with a deep understanding of data flows and lifecycle. Excellent SQL across relational and columnar databases, NoSQL knowledge, and hands-on ETL/ELT and pipeline work are required. You should know a cloud data platform (AWS, Azure or GCP), streaming technologies, data governance and lineage, and how to design secure, compliant architectures.
