About the role
Melita is hiring a Network Security Specialist to run its firewall and network security estate, built mainly on Check Point and Cisco. The company is after deep firewall and networking skill rather than formal InfoSec credentials.
What you'd do
You would manage and troubleshoot Check Point firewalls, including policy, NAT and VPN, and administer Cisco switches, routers and ASA devices. Rule changes go through change management, and you monitor performance to catch problems early. You support network segmentation, site-to-site and remote access VPNs and routing, take part in incident response from the network side, and work with the Infosec team on vulnerability fixes and hardening. Documentation of topology, rulesets and procedures, plus support for audits, is part of the role.
What you need
Solid hands-on Check Point experience and strong Cisco networking, with a firm grasp of TCP/IP, VLANs, OSPF and BGP, NAT and IPsec or SSL VPNs. You should troubleshoot complex issues well under pressure, understand core security principles and document clearly. CCSA, CCSE, CCNA or CCNP certifications are a plus, as are Fortinet or Palo Alto exposure, Python or Ansible automation, SIEM tools and cloud networking.
