About the role
Mapfre Malta is hiring a Senior Claims Executive to handle its more complex, high-value or disputed claims. The role reports to the Head of Personal and Commercial Lines Claims and is the escalation point for the claims team.
What you'd do
You would take claims from first notice to settlement, deciding whether they are covered and negotiating payouts within your authority. Difficult cases land with you, including suspected fraud, complaints, declined claims and legal disputes. You instruct and oversee lawyers, loss adjusters and other experts, and keep reserves and costs accurate. Coaching junior handlers and advising the company's sales network on technical points is part of the job.
What you need
A Diploma in Insurance (Level 5) or equivalent, and 2 to 4 years in claims handling that includes complex or contentious cases. You need strong skills in policy interpretation, negotiation and complaint handling, plus excellent English and Maltese. Mentoring experience is an asset. Remote work is limited.
