About the role
AX Construction is hiring a Mechanic to keep its vehicles, plant and construction equipment running. The role reports to the Head Mechanic and aims to cut downtime on site.
What you'd do
You would inspect mechanical, hydraulic and electrical systems, use diagnostic tools to trace faults, and carry out servicing, preventive maintenance and repairs to manufacturer and safety standards. Some repairs are done in the field on site. You replace faulty parts, log the work you complete, flag recurring problems to the Head Mechanic, and keep the workshop and tools clean and safe, with PPE worn at all times.
What you need
At least 3 years as a mechanic in a construction, industrial or fleet setting, with experience on heavy vehicles, plant or construction equipment. A trade qualification or proven hands-on repair experience is required. You must already live in Malta and be willing to work on site when operations need it.
