Role overview
Hacksaw Gaming is hiring a Senior Systems & Infrastructure Engineer (IT & Security, Msida, Malta) for its IT Operations team, which runs mostly Linux-based on-prem infrastructure and manages databases, networks, CDN, WAF and the company's AWS footprint with a focus on maximising uptime. Responsibilities include designing and maintaining Linux infrastructure across on-prem, virtualisation and container platforms; troubleshooting complex network issues (BGP, DNS, connectivity, performance) and dotnet applications; maintaining server hardware (DELL, HPE, SuperMicro); managing web services, proxies, CDN, WAF, load balancing and PKI; operating and tuning MySQL and Redis; automating with Ansible, Chef and Rundeck; securing AWS (S3, IAM) under least-privilege practices; administering identity/access (FreeIPA or LDAP); monitoring via Zabbix, Grafana and VictoriaLogs; handling Linux storage; supporting incident management and on-call; and contributing to security event handling and IT security audits.
Requirements:
Strong Linux systems administration (Ubuntu and Enterprise Linux)
Solid network troubleshooting (Ethernet, BGP, DNS, TCP/IP, load balancers)
Proven experience running production infrastructure (baremetal, virtualisation, cloud)
Automation and scripting with Ansible, Python and Bash
