About the role
Bonnici Group is hiring a Heavy Vehicle Diagnostic Technician to find and fix faults on heavy-duty and diesel vehicles. The job covers mechanical, electrical, hydraulic and electronic systems.
What you'd do
You would run computerised diagnostics, inspect the main vehicle systems from engine and transmission to brakes, steering and electrics, and decide on the right repair. After carrying out the work you test everything again, and you keep service and repair records up to date. Routine servicing and preventive maintenance are part of the workload, as is helping junior mechanics and apprentices. Work takes place both in the workshop and out in the field, with possible overtime or emergency call-outs.
What you need
A diploma or certification in heavy vehicle mechanics, automotive technology or similar, plus proven experience with heavy-duty vehicles or diesel engines. You should know electronic diagnostic tools well, read wiring diagrams and technical manuals, and understand hydraulic and pneumatic systems. Manufacturer diagnostic software experience is preferred, along with a category B driving licence, ideally C.
