About the role
Laferla is hiring a Health Underwriting Associate to help process its health insurance policies. It is a supervised, entry-level post where you build underwriting skills on the job.
What you'd do
You would process routine applications, renewals and policy changes, and keep client and policy records accurate and properly filed. As you learn the products through training and shadowing, you start spotting unusual or higher-risk cases, noting what you see and passing them to senior staff. Everyday queries from clients and brokers come to you, with complex ones escalated. The role also includes issuing invoices, recording receipts and helping with reconciliations, all within the company's compliance and data protection rules.
What you need
An A-level standard of education or equivalent. Basic health insurance knowledge helps but a willingness to learn is enough, and further study in insurance or business is an asset. You should be accurate with data, professional in how you communicate, and quick to adapt to new systems.
