About the role
Vassallo Builders is hiring a Shutterer for its construction team. The job is building and striking the formwork for concrete to the architect's plans.
What you'd do
You would make sure materials are on hand, erect shuttering to the drawings and the Site Manager's instructions, and keep levels correct, columns plumb and the required concrete cover in place. Formwork comes off only once the concrete has reached strength, checking with the supervisor if unsure. Afterwards you clean the timber of nails and excess concrete and stack it safely. Protective clothing, stable platforms and harnesses at height are required, and tools, especially electrical ones, need proper care.
What you need
The ability to read technical drawings, precision, and a good knowledge of construction health and safety rules. You should work well alone and in a team. Proven experience as a shutterer is an asset.
