About This Job

Scope:

Oxford House, synonymous with the import and retail of home appliances, kitchens, home furniture, bedding and office solutions, is seeking to recruit the services of a Junior Accountant to join its team. The ideal candidate will form part of the Accounts Team, primarily responsible for supporting the Financial Controller in preparing accurate financial and operational reports that guide effective business decision making. 

Duties include assisting with monthly and annual closing processes, preparing management accounts, analysing financial performance, and supporting budgeting and forecasting activities. The role also involves maintaining financial models, managing accounts payable and receivable processes, and ensuring compliance with accounting policies and statutory requirements. In addition, the Junior Accountant will contribute to audit preparation and statutory reporting while helping ensure the accuracy and integrity of financial data across the organisation.

Responsibilities:

  • Assist the Financial Controller to prepare regular financial and operational reports, including management accounts, KPIs, and variance analysis.

  • Assist with month-end and year-end closing processes.

  • Help prepare monthly financial reports.

  • Analyse financial performance, identify trends, and highlight risks or opportunities.

  • Support budgeting and forecasting through data preparation, modelling, and analysis. 

  • Build and maintain financial models to evaluate business scenarios and performance drivers.

  • Assist with yearly statutory audits.

  • Ensure accuracy and integrity of financial data used in all reporting. 

  • Oversee accounts payable and accounts receivable processes.

  • Ensure compliance with accounting policies and procedures.

  • Assist with statutory reporting including VAT Returns, NSO Reporting.

Requirements:

  • ACCA certification or currently in advanced stage of the certification.

  • Minimum of 2 years’ experience in financial analysis, FP&A, or management reporting.

  • Experience with the use of ERP systems is preferable.

  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex data clearly. 

  • Excellent attention to detail, accuracy, and consistency. 

  • Proficiency in Excel and financial modelling; experience with BI tools is considered an asset. 

  • Ability to explain financial concepts clearly to non-finance stakeholders. 

  • Strong organisational skills and the ability to manage multiple priorities.
