About the Role

We’re looking for a hands-on Finance Manager to take ownership of accounting, reporting, and audit processes, while strengthening our control environment.
You’ll play a key role in ensuring financial accuracy and integrity of all current and future Malta entities, working closely with the Finance & Planning Controller (Acting Deputy CFO) and CFO as well as collaborating across the business.

 

Duties and Responsibilities:

Financial Reporting & Control

  • Responsible for financial oversight, reporting, controls, compliance, and operational finance management across all current and future Malta entities.

  • Own month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close processes

  • Ensure accurate and timely financial reporting across all NetBet and Malta Group entities.

  • Maintain balance sheet integrity including player liabilities and PSP balances

  • Deliver consolidated group reporting

  • Own the preparation, review, and delivery of monthly management reporting packs.

  • Review the work of junior team members to ensure accuracy, completeness, and timely delivery.

Team Supervision/Line Management

  • Supervise, coach, and support the Accounts Executive and Accounts Assistant.

  • Allocate work, monitor deadlines, and review outputs.

  • Support training, cross-skilling, and continuous development within the finance team.

  • Act as the first point of escalation for day-to-day finance queries within the team.

  • Responsible for setting priorities and ensuring team delivery against close and reporting deadlines

Regulatory & Compliance

  • Own financial aspects of compliance with MGA, UKGC and other regulators

  • Prepare and submit regulatory financial reports

  • Work closely with Legal and Compliance teams

Audit & External Stakeholders

  • Lead external audits across all jurisdictions

  • Manage relationships with auditors and advisors

  • Ensure audit readiness and minimise findings

Payments & Reconciliations

  • Oversee PSP reconciliations and payment flows, ensuring accuracy and completeness.

  • Perform and review weekly bank reconciliations, resolving discrepancies promptly

  • Ensure timely and accurate posting of all transactions in the accounting system

  • Maintain accurate tracking of player balances, wallets, and bank accounts

  • Monitor the company’s liquidity position, ensuring sufficient operational coverage

  • Escalate liquidity risks or shortfalls with proposed actions

  • Identify and resolve discrepancies, mitigating financial risk through strong controls

Controls & Process Improvement

  • Design and implement strong financial controls

  • Drive process improvements and automation

  • Establish and maintain SOPs across finance operations

  • Ensure proper segregation of duties and review controls within the finance team.

  • Prepare management reporting packs

Tax & Multi-Jurisdiction

  • Coordinate tax compliance across jurisdictions

  • Work with advisors on gaming taxes and VAT

 

What You’ll Bring:

Technical Skills

  • Qualified accountant (ACA / ACCA / CPA)

  • Big 4 background is a strong plus

  • Solid 3+ years of relevant senior experience in accounting, reporting, and audit

  • Strong focus on controls, accuracy, and detail

  • Ability to collaborate across teams in a fast-paced environment

  • Experience supervising or mentoring junior finance staff

  • Strong working knowledge of month-end close, reconciliations, and audit coordination
