Role overview
Hilton Malta is recruiting for an Assistant Restaurant Manager on a Full-Time basis, within our Oceana Restaurant.
Working closely with the Restaurant Manager, the Assistant Restaurant Manager is responsible for making sure customers have the best possible experience. As an Assistant Restaurant Manager, you will be responsible of the following:
1. Exceptional Customer Experiences
Lead your team to deliver exceptional customer experiences, providing authentic personalised service and in-depth product knowledge
Develop great customer relationships, recognizing repeat customers and their preferences to improve loyalty
Manage operations efficiently, making sure customers receive a friendly welcome on arrival, tables are available at reserved times, and ensuring high-quality, well-presented food and drinks are delivered promptly and accurately
Contribute to achieving restaurant revenue targets by training your team on effective upselling and personalised customer recommendations
Make sure that food allergies, dietary requirements and customer modifications are treated with absolute seriousness
Carry out customer satisfaction checks, taking quick action to improve service and resolve complaints, supporting your team where needed
2. Great Working Environment
Manage, develop and motivate the restaurant service team, creating an inclusive environment where all Team Members can thrive and achieve their professional goals
Practice great people management, from recruitment to training to succession planning and recognition
Schedule Team Members’ working time efficiently based on forecast business volumes, offering flexibility where possible and minimizing overtime costs
Communicate well and often, building good working relationships with the culinary and stewarding teams
3. Day-To-Day Essentials
Make sure restaurant operations strictly comply with all regulations (including health, safety and hygiene, food safety certification, licensing) and that potentially hazardous situations are identified, reported and corrected
Ensure the restaurant is set up for service, and assist the Restaurant GM in making sure all restaurant opening and closing procedures are carried out correctly, including financial reports and reconciliations
Maintain operational effectiveness, using efficient steps of service and layout to reduce cycle times
Assist the Restaurant GM in managing restaurant inventory, stock control and purchasing, following hotel guidelines.
We’re looking for someone who is passionate about market-leading restaurants, with previous experience working at leadership level, within a restaurant environment, preferably within a five-star hotel
To be successful in this position you will have:
Good people management skills, experienced in managing, training and motivating a team and working effectively with other departments.
Excellent communication skills to create connections with diverse customers and share information clearly
Customer focus, maintaining the highest standards of service and quality to create memorable experiences
Effective relationship management skills to build good relationships with key internal and external stakeholders
Adaptability and problem-solving skills, able to work effectively in a fast-paced environment while remaining calm and focused under pressure.
Comfortable using F&B systems and MS Office and fluent in English
