"Remote" on a Malta job listing almost always means "remote-from-Malta". MGA licensing and local tax rules push gaming employers to keep their workforce on the island for tax-residency reasons, so the bulk of these roles still require you to live in (or relocate to) Malta.
There is a small but growing cluster of fully-distributed roles where you can work from anywhere in the EU, usually with software companies serving non-Malta markets. Read the listing carefully, and don't assume.
