MyJob.mt started because Malta job search was broken. Years of using local boards as a candidate and as an employer surfaced the same problems every time: outdated design, inaccurate listings, forced registrations, searches that went nowhere, slow and clunky processes. The market hadn't moved, and the attitude felt very much "if it works, don't touch it." Our take is the opposite: if it works, make it work better.
Most job boards treat listings as documents to search, not roles to understand.
You end up matching text strings instead of matching skills. A "React developer" search misses the "Frontend Engineer" role that's a perfect fit. A "remote" filter misses a hybrid role that's fine working from home four days a week. The listing has the info. The board just never read it. Add forced registrations before you can apply, stale duplicates from five aggregators, and a design that stopped evolving a decade ago, and local job search became a chore instead of a tool.
